Zurich on the other hand seems to be still encouraging new business. Rents are well controlled and while still expensive they are lower than Geneva and both are lower than central London.
Zurich and its surrounding cantons offer more attractive corporate and personal tax rates than Geneva but still fund managers head to Geneva rather than Zurich. Both areas aren’t attracting the numbers of fund managers from London that were predicted last year. With Bluecrest and Brevin Howard moving to Geneva it seems there is a mysterious advantage or lure that Geneva has.
This calls for a visit to Geneva to investigate this mystery aura it has. If I come back, it will no doubt have resulted in an Apex Geneva office being opened if it is as good as everyone else thinks it is”.
