Apex Group’s expanding Global Compliance Solutions team provides clients with tech-enabled compliance and AML solutions to meet their operational and regulatory obligations across international financial hubs. This agile, global single-source solution delivers efficiency, simplifies compliance and enables business opportunities from regulatory licensing support through to ongoing compliance advisory for existing and future regulatory requirements.
The expansion of Compliance Solutions in the US market will help to address clients’ risks and concerns around ESG, AML and financial crime, as well as delivering compliance advisory support including for emerging innovation and technologies in financial services. Apex Group’s solutions are directed to meet market demand in four key areas:
- ESG & Sustainability Compliance: ESG governance including identifying and monitoring sustainability commitments, and measurement of impact, systems and controls including the integration of sustainability compliance and proper due diligence; marketing and disclosure support to ESG funds in line with fund strategies, assurance testing relating to voting frameworks and portfolio alignment, climate-risk management, and adaptation of investment governance processes.
- Technology enabled AML & Due Diligence Services: Providing technology enabled Managed Due Diligence Services (investor, investment, asset, vendor diligence, Green KYC) and compliance for emerging technology based financial services including fintech, crypto-asset compliance, VASP and CASP due diligence, crypto and digital assets risk management and marketing controls, AML for legal, audit and corporate professionals.
- Compliance Execution: Supporting clients with ongoing compliance obligations such as development and implementation of policies and procedures, Code of Ethics, training including regulatory exam preparation, annual compliance reports, regulatory inquiries and service provider oversight and AML assurance services.
- Regulatory reporting services: Form ADV, Form PF, 13H, 13F and coordination of global reporting through Apex Group Global Compliance teams for greater data synergies across multiple regulators.
Global Compliance Solutions in the US will be led by Michael Barakat, who brings over 20 years of experience managing an effective enterprise compliance program and has held the position of Chief Compliance Officer for some of the largest financial institutions in the industry. He joins following Apex Group’s acquisition of Sanne, where he was responsible for growing awareness of compliance services and designing and executing compliance programs for new and existing clients.
This announcement follows the recent launch of Apex Group’s Global Compliance Solutions offering in the Singapore market with compliance services now offered across more than 12 jurisdictions in four regions, enabling clients to leverage global expertise across both entity and fund level compliance.
